• The "Mali Białcanie" band comes from Białka Tatrzańska. It is a village in the south of Poland, at the foothills of the Tatra Mountains, in the Rocky Podhale region. The picturesque location makes Białka Tatrzańska to be one of the most beautiful villages of Podhale for its spectacular views of both Slovak and Polish parts of the Tatra Mountains. The village lies in the valley of the Białka river, which flows out of the Morskie Oko mountain lake. The river forms kind of a boundary between Spisz and Podhale regions.

  • The band was founded in 1984 by Stanisław Zagata and Józef Nowobilski.

  • The children - band members - cultivate local traditions of Podhale, passed down from generation to generation, discovering the beauty of their region through singing, dancing, old customs and games.

  • Their performances are based on the children games accompanying a variety of events, combined with traditional singing and dancing.

  • The "Białcanie" band was founded in 1994. The group consists of both adults and young people, and originates from the children's band founded in Białka Tatrzańska in the 80s. In 1997 the band temporarily changed its name to "Dolina Białki". At that time it was conducted by Józef Budz Miescorz.

  • "Białcanie" presents and cultivates the folklore of Tatra highlanders, preserving local specific culture of the village. The band actively participates in many cultural events, competitions and festivals in Poland and abroad.
